Singing Myself Home; an embodied singing series with Lucien Julian

Dates: Nov. 1st, Dec. 13th, Jan 3rd, Feb. 14th, March 7th, April 4th, May 2nd

Time: 9am-10am MST (US)

Who: Everyone! Please do not let your belief that you “can’t sing” or are not a singer stop you. This isn’t about “singing well”. This is about our intimate relationships with our own voices. About how singing feels in our bodies. About how feeling the sounds of our own voice can bring us closer to ourselves.

Where: ZOOM

Cost: 40$ per class or $200 for the whole series

To sign up, please email: www.lucien.julian.embodied@gmail.com

Your voice is yours. It rumbles through the most intimate parts of you, vibrating the darkest corners and bringing them into the hearth of your own breath.

Please join me from Samhain to Beltane as we spend some time exploring our breath and voice through embodied meditation, sounding, authentic voicing and singing. No experience necessary.

Each class will follow a similar format. We will settle into ourselves through gentle movement and then find our way to the floor. Here we will explore the sensation of breathing throughout our bodies and continuing with this focus on sensation, slowly begin to experiment with sound. We will finish each class with a simple call and response song. Each participant will be on mute, so you will hear yourself and you will hear me, but you don’t need to worry about the group hearing you. You are safe and at the same time, witnessed and held in our compassionate container.

How do we live BodySoul?

What do we want from the Well?

This peer-support group is open to anyone who has attended a workshop or training in BodySoul Rhythms or BodyDreaming.  We meet for one hour, on the FOURTH Monday of the month.

We open with the ritual of Sophia's Bowl, which is inspired by the Dance of Three.  We gather and ground with a guided meditation, then we listen to a short poem or verse.  We take turns to speak from where we are in the Now.  All the time we are witnessed and contained by one another in the group.

There is time then, to express and share our experiences of living BodySoul, however we manage it, in our everyday lives.  We aim to finish punctually on the hour.

Invitation to the seventh Yoking with Jung series - Sunrise, Sunset & The Hours In Between by Sandhya Rajayer

Greetings from the Bangalore Society of Analytical Psychology!

We are delighted to invite you to our next offering in the Yoking with Jung series Sunrise, Sunset & The Hours In between by Sandhya Rajayer

"It is hygienic to discover in death a goal toward which one can strive; shrinking away from it robs the second half of life of its purpose."

— C. G. Jung, Modern Man in Search of a Soul

What does it mean to shift into the second half of life? How do we then walk toward our death?  Do we approach it with fear, faith, or awareness?

For Sandhya Rajayer, the curiosity about death and dying has accompanied her curiosity about life itself.  It is what drew her to Jungian work: finding the courage to sit with what cannot be known, and hoping to encounter grace, not terror, as a companion into the unknowable terrain of endings.

Jung saw death as part of the great rhythm of existence, a necessary counterpart to life, a transition rather than an end.  To accept death, he wrote in The Red Book, "is altogether like a frosty night in a vineyard full of sweet grapes. Death ripens."

In this Yoking with Jung, Sandhya invites us into a reflective exploration of this ripening - to see death not as the enemy of life, but as its quiet teacher. Through myth, memory, and lived experience, she opens a space to ask:

- What changes when we bring awareness to our mortality?

- What myths help us befriend death and see it as part of life’s design?

- How might we meet death with grace, not fear?

Join us for an evening of reflection and conversation, a luminous pause between sunrise and sunset, to dwell for a time in the luminous hours in between.

Day: Saturday, November 22nd, 2025

KALI II: VOID OF TERROR with BodyDreaming graduate Sunitha Sivamani

This latest episode of Yoking is an invitation to step into the void within — the inner space where terror may reside.

From Śūnyatā, the great void, Kali emerges in all her fierceness, severing heads, confronting illusion, and evoking terror as one meets her in the dance of rage. The terror that dwells in the human psyche goes invisible, creating in us a void that holds immense energy. This is the luminous doorway of Kali, a psychic threshold known in Indian mythology as Mahābhaya or Terror.

The talk by Sunitha Sivamani will also take you on a visual journey through the Bharani festival of Kodungallur, Kerala, where the women oracles known as the Vellichapaad, embody the fierce presence of Goddess Bhadrakali. Meeting the sacred in the profane, interweaving myth with lived reality, we invite you to explore the human psyche as it moves from a dissociated trauma vortex toward the possibility of healing.

Though this is the second in our Kali series, each session stands complete in itself and may be attended independently.

ISJA/IAPA event: "The Birds Don’t know it’s Sunday: the mystery of memory, consciousness and the dementias" with ffiona von Westhoven Perigrinor

As life expectancy increases, so does the incidence of the dementias and Alzheimer’s disease. When a friend or relative loses their memory, it is distressing both for them and their carers. The challenge is to find the symbolic meaning, not only in terms of the archetype, but also of the individual sufferer’s atypical behaviour. In this event, reflections will be made on Jung’s insights into the nature of consciousness, old age, and death, utilising both extracts from his correspondence and clinical examples as evidence of the teleological aspect of some of the apparently mindless symptoms of the dementias.

ISJA / IAPA Zoom event "MAKING USE OF ACTIVE IMAGINATION WITHIN CLINICAL PRACTICE" with Mary Dougherty

See this leaflet for more details

Active Imagination is a therapeutic method developed by C.G. Jung, that engages the reality of the unconscious – those aspects of our psyches outside of our conscious ego identity. The process of Active Imagination involves an intentional encounter with the unconscious in the form of images, figures, emotions or moods as they may emerge in dreams, waking reveries, fairytales or image making processes.

In this lecture, Mary will focus on the use of active imagination as described by Jung and on the ways she uses active imagination within analysis. She will share two clinical examples: one making use of image making, and the second using a fairytale and dreams.

Drop In Well - Fourth Monday of the month - Online peer support group

Holy Well, Killinaboy, Co Clare

If you would like to join us, please contact either of us:

BodyDreaming Training Module 2 Online - The Role of Body and Psyche in Regulation and Healing

Marian Dunlea with Abigail Whyte, Pauline Sayhi, Patricia Llosa, Patricia Grey Amante, and Wendy Bratherton.

Overview

In Module Two, we explore how both body and psyche contribute to affect regulation and the Self-regulating principle in Jungian psychology. As we navigate activation, overwhelm, and trauma in these challenging times, we focus on restoring balance to our systems.

Trauma – whether implicit (developmental and transgenerational) or explicit (cultural, political, and ecological) – can remain buried in the somatic unconscious, affecting our nervous system, organs, muscles, joints, hormones, blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, and digestion. These stored effects often manifest as rigid fight, flight, or freeze patterns, becoming the default positions of the Autonomic Nervous System and influencing every aspect of our lives – our relationships, capacity for joy, and reactions to events.

Regulation, Titration, Orientation

In Module Two, we work with regulation, titration, and orientation, both externally and internally. By tuning into our felt sense, we observe how the body responds in the moment. As we orient to objects or elements in our environment, we may recognise that the very thing we focus on is precisely what is needed to restore balance and equilibrium within us. This gentle approach allows us to uncouple and release energies that have been held in check.

In directing our attention to these internal body sensations, rather than attacking the trauma head on, we can unbind and free the energies that have been held in check. (Levine, 1997, pp. 65-66)

As we learn to reset the nervous system, we realign with the psyche-soma dynamic. This fluidity fosters a deepened connection between body, mind, and soul, opening us to a greater sense of interconnectedness – what Jung and the alchemists referred to as “unus mundus.”

The practice strengthens our awareness of ourselves as active participants in a living, breathing, dreaming universe. We discover the virtue of co-regulation and reciprocity.

Nothing happens in which you are not entangled in a secret manner; for everything has ordered itself around you and plays your innermost. (Jung, 2009, The Red Book, p.260)

Learning Objectives

• Techniques to release stored trauma and restore nervous system balance.

• Alignment with the self-healing and self-regulatory mechanisms inherent in all living beings.

• A deeper connection with psyche, dream images and the somatic unconscious.

• The power of interoception – attuning to inner sensations to find greater balance, and coherence in the whole system.

• A renewed sense of harmony, pleasure, and reciprocity with the world.

Skeleton Woman: A Sacred Threads Gathering for Women with Jay Edge

  • Google Calendar ICS

The busyness of life, even when that life is freely chosen and richly rewarding, can mean we lose connection with some deep, wild, soulful aspect of ourselves. Myths and stories offer us a map to wholeness, to living a full and rich deep inner life, as well as one lived well in the outer world. Stories show us how to walk in both worlds.

Come and join us for a soulful and joyful weekend gathering of story, myth, movement and dreamwork; an exploration of the deep feminine. Our weave is informed by BodySoul Rhythms and the myth and story work of Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes and we are held by the labyrinth and the glorious land and trees of Kent.

Our story for 2025 is the story of Skeleton Woman. A story of loss and descent, of being reduced to essence and of returning, in time, to fullness and new life.

Course fee £355 includes supper on Friday and Saturday and lunches on Saturday and Sunday, tea, coffee, snacks and art materials. It does not include accommodation.

Contact Jay on 078 8149 2342 or jay@jayedge.com

Introduction to Embodied Singing: Feeling your own voice with Lucien Julian

Saturday, May 3rd , 10am-11am MST; 6pm-7pm UK/Irish time.

Where: ZOOM

Cost: 30-50$ Sliding scale

To book, email Lucien at lucien.julian.embodied@gmail.com

Society has taught us that singing is something you either can or can’t do. But historically, singing was more about being…being with yourself, being with your community, being with your spirituality. Let’s reclaim our voices by dropping deep into our bodies and discovering what is waiting to be voiced. Let’s offer ourselves a safe and compassionate place to explore, as we work with our nervous systems and play with our breath to let our voices find expression.
