’An immersive experience of symbolism, ritual, and renewal’

Brigit and her successors, the Abbesses of Kildare, were among those known as Those Who Turn Back the Streams of War.  Although Ireland recently inaugurated a new Public Holiday in honour of Brigit (saint / goddess / indigenous figure of wisdom), little is known of the international background, antiquity, depth and richness of her symbols and traditions.

In these war-torn days, this Brigit 2026 event offers the opportunity to:

·       Engage with the experiences of several distinguished speakers and their life-long engagement to Peace-Weaving and Healing;

·       Learn about the richness of Brigit's cloak and its importance for Peace-Weaving;

·       Learn about Brigit's distaff and how the Old Irish Mná Feasa (Wise Women), wove societies together, sovereign in their dignity;

·       Commit to reflecting on how we attempt to enact these qualities in our own lives in the run-up to our event.

Join us for a transformative session exploring Brigid’s timeless symbolism and its enduring power today.  Celebrate living in the spirit of Brigit with embodied and creative processes: music, poetry, and dance.

Contributors include speakers Mary Condren, Mari Fitzduff, Rosari Kingston and Michelle LeBaron, as well as poets Moya Cannon, Ruth Marshall, Ann O’Reilly and Grace Wells and storyteller/actor Nuala Hayes.
